At Romsey Medical Practice, we offer a holistic, medically supervised approach to weight management.

Our service is led by Dr Craig Revill, a GP with a special interest in weight management, supported by our in-house nutritional therapist Natasha Hartwell to help you make sustainable lifestyle changes.
Important: We do not guarantee specific amounts of weight loss. Any medication is only prescribed when clinically appropriate, following a full medical consultation.

Why Choose a CQC-Regulated Medical Weight Loss Service?
Romsey Medical Practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which means our slimming activities are delivered within a regulated healthcare environment. This helps ensure:
- Robust clinical governance and safety processes
- GMC-registered doctors overseeing your care
- Clear consent, monitoring and follow-up
- A joined-up approach to your wider health, not just the number on the scales

1.Initial Consultation
with Dr Craig
Your journey begins with a comprehensive 45 minute consultation with Dr Craig, during which he will:
- Take a detailed medical history and review your current medications
- Assess your BMI, weight history and relevant risk factors
- Explore your lifestyle, eating patterns, sleep and activity levels
- Screen for conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular risk and hormonal issues where appropriate
- Discuss your goals, expectations and any previous weight loss attempts
Based on this assessment, Dr Craig will advise whether a medical weight management plan is suitable for you. This may include lifestyle changes alone or, where appropriate, consideration of weight-loss medication as part of a broader plan.
Please note: Medication is not suitable or necessary for everyone. It is only considered where clinically indicated and safe, following an individual assessment.

2. Personalised Lifestyle
& Nutrition Support
You’ll then work with our nutritional therapist to create a realistic plan tailored to your life, preferences and health needs. This may include:
- Practical guidance on balanced meals and portion sizes
- Strategies for managing cravings, emotional eating and trigger situations
- Support with meal planning, shopping and eating out
- Advice on movement and activity that fits your current ability
- Ongoing accountability and encouragement
Our aim is to help you build habits that are sustainable in the long term, not quick fixes that are hard to maintain.

3. Ongoing Monitoring
& Review
Weight management is a journey, and we continue to support you with:
- Regular review appointments with Dr Craig and/or our nutritional therapist
- Monitoring of weight, BMI and relevant clinical markers
- Discussion of any side effects or concerns, where medication is used
- Adjustments to your plan depending on your progress and life events
If at any point weight-loss medication forms part of your treatment, it will be:
- Prescribed only after a full medical assessment
- Used alongside lifestyle interventions, not as a standalone solution
Regularly reviewed for safety, tolerability and effectiveness
About Weight-Loss Medication
As a medically-led clinic, we may consider the use of weight-management medication where appropriate, as part of a wider treatment plan.
To comply with UK advertising regulations and protect patient safety:
- We do not advertise or promote specific prescription-only medicines (POMs) by name on this website.
- We do not guarantee results or promise a specific amount of weight loss.
- Any decision to prescribe is made case-by-case, depending on your health, risk factors and suitability.
- All medication decisions are taken by a GMC-registered doctor in line with current guidelines and best practice.
If you are suitable for treatment, Dr Craig will explain:
- The potential benefits and limitations
- Possible side effects and risks
- Alternative options and what may happen if you choose not to take medication
You will have time and space to ask questions so you can make an informed decision.
Who Might Be Suitable?
You may benefit from a medical weight management consultation if you:
- Struggle to lose or maintain weight despite lifestyle efforts
- Have a BMI in the overweight or obese range
- Have health conditions that may be affected by weight (e.g. raised blood pressure, pre-diabetes, joint pain)
- Want a structured, evidence-based approach with professional support
However, suitability can only be confirmed after a full clinical assessment. In some cases, lifestyle-only support may be the safest and most appropriate option.
