Cosmetic Services ⸺ Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment
PRP treatment is a non-surgical procedure using a patient’s own blood to enhance hair growth and skin appearance. The process involves:
- Drawing a small amount of blood from the patient’s arm.
- Spinning the blood in a centrifuge to separate platelets and plasma.
- Injecting the platelet-rich plasma into the target area.
How it works
Platelets contain growth factors that stimulate new hair follicles and collagen production, improving hair growth and skin youthfulness. PRP can also be combined with SkinPen Microneedling or Morpheus 8 treatments for enhanced collagen stimulation.

What are the main benefits?
- Enhanced hair growth
- Reduced wrinkles and fine lines
- Increased collagen production
- No downtime or scarring
- Safe and effective
Who is a good candidate for PRP treatment?
PRP treatment is ideal for individuals who are either unsuitable for or prefer to avoid anti-wrinkle injections. This treatment effectively targets fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eyes, mouth, and neck, and can provide a collagen boost for the entire face. It is also suitable for those experiencing hair thinning.
Are there any risks?
PRP treatment is generally safe, but there are some potential risks, including: temporary redness, swelling, and bruising, discomfort, skin irritation.
Before Your Treatment
After your medical consultation, we’ll provide pre-appointment advice to ensure the best results;
- Wash your hair the day of or the day before your treatment. Avoid washing for 48 hours after scalp treatments.
- Arrive without make-up, as residual make-up can pose an infection risk.
We’ll apply numbing cream to the treatment area, whether it’s your face, scalp, or both. The cream will sit for 20-30 minutes to ensure your comfort during the treatment.
During Your Treatment
While the numbing cream takes effect, we’ll draw a small blood sample, typically from your elbow crease. This sample is placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red cells.
The plasma is then prepared in syringes for your treatment. Once the numbing cream is removed, we thoroughly cleanse your skin. Using the smallest needles available, we perform the injections, which leave tiny bumps that settle rapidly. We finish by cleansing the skin again and applying a soothing aftercare balm.
The treatment is well-tolerated and comfortable.
After Your Treatment
To help minimise adverse effects and maximise your results, please follow these simple aftercare tips:
- Avoid heavy exercise, hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce swelling and bruising risks.
- Keep the treated area clean to prevent infection.
- Results vary; some see improvements in a few days, while others may see changes within a few weeks.
- For best results, we recommend an initial course of three treatments, spaced four weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 1-6 months.
